Soloist with Kingston Symphony Orchestra - The Bach Connection | Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, Kingston, ON
On the first half of the program I perform Bach's Concerto in D minor, including an original cadenza in each movement, as well as the continuo of Brandenburg Concerto no. 3 on the harpsichord. The second half of the program features my original jazz arrangements of selected pieces by Bach:
Partita no. 5 in G: Praeambulum;
Concerto no. 5 in F minor, movts I and II;
Violin Concerto no. 1 in A minor: Andante;
Violin Partita no. 3 in E major: Prelude
This concert proposes a new vision of the genius music of J,S. Bach using a variety of contemporary musical styles. The first half is mostly 18th century Bach, the second half mostly 21st century Bach, but everything contains a mix of both.

I perform a mix of my classical-jazz "integrated crossover" arrangements of pieces by Bach, Schubert, Ravel, Satie and Chopin, as well as a selection of my original compositions. The grand finale will be Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue, featuring two improvised sections woven into the piece. Possible risk of one or two Christmas songs as well.

Sharon and I, along with the Orchestre Classique de Montréal conducted by Boris Brott, will perform my arrangements of songs by Gershwin, Berlin, Weill, Bernstein and Legrand, among others. Guest artist clarinettist André Moisan will also be featured on some arrangements.
